SUCCESS REPORTED
INTER-HOUSE ASSOCIATION. LESSONS FOR THE FUTURE. A substantial credit balance in the bank was reported to last night’s meeting of the committee of the Wairarapa Inter-house Association when a final statement of accounts was received covering both the recent sports meeting and dance organised by the association. From the receipts the sum of £44 Us had already been paid to the girls’ team which competed in the marching and drill competitions. Every team had received £4 Is, representing an allowance of 9s per girl towards the cost of uniforms. Consequent upon a resolution passed at the general meeting held early in the year when the Association was formed, draft rules were also considered by the committee. These rules provide for regular application for membership from individual business houses and representation at general meetings by three delegates for every house. The annual subscription has been proposed at only 2/6 per house and the revenue of the association is to be dependent upon gate and sundry receipts at various sports meetings, contests and social functions to be planned. At the next meeting of the committee early in May, arrangements will be made for holding a general meeting of delegates to accept official rules for conduct of the association’s activities and make provision for registration as an incorporated society. Mr G. W. Sellar, it was reported, had consented to act as honorary auditor of the Association.
