A number of instances in which New Zealanders who have come to Sydney have sacrificed New Zealand notes at a discount of twenty-five per cent have been reported to the New Zealand Trade Commissioner, Mr W. Taylor. One man, who arrived by the Awatea yesterday, accepted £BO in Australian notes in exchange for £lOO in New Zealand notes. “I know it is robbery,” said the man, “but it was either do that or remain broke over the holidays.”
