NARROW BELT DEVASTATED
IN SYDNEY SIXTY PERSONS INJURED. HOUSES AND FACTORIES UNROOFED. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright (Received This Day. 11.35 a.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. A tropical storm, accompanied by a gale, which struck Sydney last night caused considerable damage. The storm lasted'for only five minutes, but sixty persons were injured, nine seriously. About one hundred houses and two factories were unroofed. In the Western suburbs several buildings were demolished, and in many cases furniture was smased to pieces. The damage was confined to a strip about a quarter of a mile wide.
