PROVINCE’S CONTRIBUTION. SUM OF £11.276 PROMISED. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. I.ocal bodies in the Wellington Province have already promised to contribute £11,276 toward the cost of the Dominion court at the Centennial Exhibition. The chairman of the Wellington Provincial Executive, Mr P. E. Pattrick, said yesterday that it was ap- J parent that the sum aimed at. £12.900. V would be obtained. As the amount was considerably more than that promised by any other province, local bodies throughout the district—every one of which was contributing—had reason to :°eel proud. “ , Mr Pattrick presided over a meeting of the provincial executive yesterday. There were present: Messrs T. L. Sddon, Mayor of Feilding; A. G. Barnett, representing Mr C. M. Turrell, chairman of the Wellington Harbour Board; F. H. Bethwaite, president of the W?? nganui Chamber of Commerce; S. Blackley, chairman of. the Hutt County Council; J. W. Card, Mayor of Featherston; A. E. Mansford. Mayor of Palmerston North; W. G. Holloway, representing Mr L. B. H. de Latour, Mayor of Taihape; T. Jordan, Mayor of Masterton; Captain S. Holm, Wellington Chamber of Commerce. Plans for the Wellington section of the Dominion court were considered. Details are to be supplied to the architects for the purpose of preparing models.
