OBITUARY

MR RODERICK McKENZIE. The death occurred at Wanganui on Monday of Mr Rod. McKenzie, son of the late Mr and Mrs Roderick McKenzie, of Fernridge.. The late Mr McKenzie, who was born at Fernridge 59 years ago, had for the past twenty-five years resided at Wanganui, and was a fat stock buyer for the firm of Sims, Cooper and Co., Ltd. He took a keen interest in sheep and cattle breeding and as judge of fat stock at various shows in the district. A descendant of a Scotch family he was always very keenly interested in Scotch piping and dancing. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge in Wanganui and at the funeral yesterday there was a large gathering of Masons, the Masonic service being impressively conducted by the W.M. The Rev. J. McLean conducted the service at the graveside. A lament was played on the bagpipes by a member of the Wanganui Pipe Band. The late Mr McKenzie leaves a widow but no family.
