Canterbury v Wellington, resulted in Canterbury soaring 130 and 80, Wellington 66 and 84. Roberts being highest scorer with 14. Dunlop bowled well for Canterbury, at one time having sent down 50 balls for 6 wickets at a cost of one ran, his total analysis being 10 wickets lor 37 runs. MoGirt trundled the leather.in flue style lor Wellington, getting 9 wickets tor 67 runs. Barnes was highest scorer tor Canterbury, 49, not out, from the fourth wicket. The visitors won by 111 runs. Wellington's fielding was inferior to Canterbury's. Powke, behind the wicket, was worth seeing. The Canterbury Midland cricket club beat the Wellington Midlanders by an innings and 82 runs. Page, of Canterbury, made the top score of the day, 79, not out, from the 6th wicket, Hill 62; B Blaekloek was the highest scorer for Wellington with 88. Canterbury's fielding was grand. Shaw and Lillywhite's team played 18 of Geelong. The Englishmen made 884 in one innings, Geelong 110 and 86 lot firs wickets. The match was drawn.
