Taratahi-Carterton Road Board.

The ordinary monthly meeting of the above Board was held on Saturday. Present— Messrs B. Boys (chairman), W. Booth. J. Rayner, Jas Stevens, E.W.Dorset, W. Parker, H. K Bunny and N. Grace. The minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed.

Correspondence—From Mr Andersen re repairs of road at Woodside. From Joe. Aroher re transfer of property, and asking that the present owner's name be entered on the rate book in place of his. Granted.

From J. Blomquist. The same. Application informal.

From Mr E, Morgan re fencing road which the Board had taken through his property. Resolved that the application be acceded to. From Messrs Smith and Neilson re transfer of property at the Taratahi. Granted. From Colonial Treasurer re Loan, and ad* vising that the Board reduce the amount to £3o7j. Resolved that some settlers on the Taratahi be notified to clear the gorse off the road. From Messrs Jansen and Robinson re road to their properties, Waingawa Gully.

Tbe Chairman stated that they had got a Bridle Track whioh they asked for eome time ago, and as for nukieg a road where they wanted it, it was a thing impossible, even if the ward bad get tbe funds to do it with. It was resolved that the applicants be notified to that effect.

Mr M. Riley waited on the Board re some culverts on the road leading to hit property.

Bunny asked that the levels be taken on a piece of toad from Gladstone to Paban and that tenders be called for formation of the same.

The Chairman requested each of the Wardene to furnish a list with names of ths Roads in their Wards so that they might be marked on the map of the district. Some accounts were pasted for pay mmu and the meeting terminated.
