London, November 26. An aquatic carnival was held on (hn Thames this afternoon in honour of William Bench, the champion sculler. Five additional native regiments have been ordered to proceed to Burmah from Calcutta. Ketusals of Irish tenantry to pay their rents are increasing. Most of the Powers have assented to the Russian proposal that Prince Nicholas of Mingrelia bo appended to the throne of Bulgaria. The British Government have expressed a desire to consult the wishes of the Bulgarian people on the subject. The Bulgarian people have expressed them solves absolutely averse to Prince Nicholas of Mingrelia succeeding to the throne of Bulgaria Plots have been discovered among the cadets at the Military School, Sofia, with the object of murdering the Regents and other prominent citizens. Several arrests have been made. Sydney, November 20. A fire broke out today on the premises of Messrs Precious and Co., the buildings being completely gutted. The premises were insured to the extent of £30,000. New Zealand wheat is selling at 4s Id per bushel ; oats, 2s 4d ; maize, per 561bs, 3a 6d.
