Masterton Horticultural Show.

The following ate the prizetakors for this Show Pot plants—Mr W H Beetbam, Mrs P B Chalmers, Mrs J Brown, Messrs A Elkins and J Russell, and of professional gardeners Mr B Collotte carried off the honors in this class. In cut flowers the awards were made in favor of Mrs W H Beetbam, Miss F B Chalmers. Mrs J Brown, Mrs Gardener, Messrs W G Beard, T Parsons, and the Misses Perry, while Mr Collotte again secured the professional gardeners’ prizes. In fruit the prizes were allotted to Messrs E Taylor, J Wrigley W G Beard, T Osborne, S Wiokenden, J Nieol, and Mrs W H Beetbam. In vegetables, the prizetakers were Messrs W G Beard, J Toolong, S Ghap> man, A Elkins, S Wiokenden, J Fitzgerald, T Osborne and W H Beetbam. Farm produce was not largely represented, but tbo awards went to Messrs J Hardiug, J Wellington, J lorna, and J Wrigley, Master R Darroch received the prize for penmanship, and the work of Master A Hathaway was highly commended. Other awards were made as follows :—Home made bread—H Campbell, 1; J Harding 2. Collection of pastry and confectionery—F Polling, 1. Plain sewing by girls under 15—Florence Boddingtou, 1 ; Nellie Chapman, 2. Best collection of ladies’ fancy work—Miss C Bagge, 1 ; Miss Chapman, 2. Drawing or painting—A Rawson, 1; Miss A Perry, 3. Special prizes for knitted work were secured by Miss Kate Hill aud Mis Bonuell; and a special prize for the best specimen of local industry fell to A M Bradbury, whose collection of taxidermy and paintings were much admired. The following ladies and gentlemen performed the duties of judges Flowers—Messrs T Mason, F Ci oper, and T Osborne; vegetables—Messrs T Kemplon and Barratt; fancy work—Mesdames Pago and Clifton, and Miss Rbckcll.
