Gold Discoveries at the Great Barrier Island.
Important discoveries of richly mineralised quartz have been made on the eastern side of the Great Barrier Island. Foar analyses have just been made of stone from different reefs, the lower of which gives 13dwts gold and 7oz silver per ton, and the highest 6 z gold B and 16oz silver per ton. The Government have been communicated with in order to have the district proclaimed a goldfield.
