Inquest.

An iuquest was held oa Monday before Dr Spratt, coroner, upon the body of Alfred Waterson, who met with his death so suddenly at Matarawa, as reported in our last. Evidence was given which showed that the deceased was helping bis brother to put a straining post into a hole. The post was a very heavy one and by some means it canted and the weight being more than John Waterson could sustain, Alfred ran to assist in keeping it perpendicular. It tell, however, and struck him upon the head, death being almost instantaneous. The jnry returned a verdict of “ Accidental Death."
