The Wesleyan Bible Class of Carterton, held their usual half yearly tea aud public meeting ou Monday evening. About sixty sat down to tea. provided by the ladies of the class. A well attended public meeting was held, afterwards, Bev J. Ward ia the chair. A pleasant evening was spent. Mr Shute’s little grandson, recently hurt in Mastertou, through the kick of a horse, is rapidly improving. It is thought that he will not be much disfiugred by the accident. Mr Thomas Watson, of Carterton, has (1 (posed of his carrying business. The uniforms for the Native Bide Corps at Papawai are now completed, aud some of (hem can be seen iu the shop window of Messrs Veitob and Allan, drapers and clothiers, Greytown. The suits are well made and of excellent material, and it is to be hoped that the men will appreciate them and take care of them. If they ride about in their good trousers they will soon put them out of shape and wear them out. The Greytown cricketers are requested to be on the reserve to-morrow afternoon, to assist in rolling some practice wickets.
