W. Dorset, “ That a rate of} in the £be levied.’’ The amendment was carried. Mr W. Udy waited on the Board in refet* ence to making that road passable which leads from Matarawa neat to the tollgate house, and said that if tbe Board would make tbe road passable he believed that he would collect sufficient to make tbe bridge over the Mauugatarari. He was requested to put his application in writing and submit it at tbe next Board meeting. Mr Anderson waited on the Board and asked if tbe special rate which was levied oa No. 6 Ward had all been collected, and wad answered in the negative. He also aaked that the Waiohine river crossing at Woodsidn might be cleared of some of the large boul« ders. The Warden, Mr Stevens, was authorised to see to jit, and also to have some other requisite repairs done in hie ward. Messrs Bassett and Dixon asked to have a drain cut on the boundary road between Carterton Town Board and No. 4 Ward. They were referred to tbe Town Board, and this Board promised to recommend that the work be done. There were grievous complaints madsabeul the flooded state of Park Rood, and tha warden was authorised to see to it. The Foresters complained that tbe new footpath mode on the Belvedere Road caused them to be flooded at their Hall. Mr Booth stated that it was e mistaken idea, for they wereJflooJed about their hall before there were auy footpaths made. Ha promised to see to it. The Clerk was instructed to write to Mr W. G. Beard asking him to have the drain on his land (White’s Land) cleared out, as it was causing damage to tbe road. Mr Rayoer asked that tenders be called for some works in No 1 ward.
