At Addington yards good crossbred wethers sold at from 7s 6d to 'Js ; ditto medium quality, and mixed sexes brought from 5s 6d to 7s ; merinos realised from 4s to 6s. The average price per lb for mutton may again be quoted at IJd, very few lota selling at above this rate. Notwithstanding the almost ruinously low prices ruling for store abeep, the entry on Wednesday was one of the largest penned for some time. Owners are in many caeca obliged to fell for whatever they can get in consequence of the scarcity of feed. Several very desirable linea were on offer, but a large proportion consisted of aped and inferior loti, uood, young, well-gruwn crossbred ewes and wethers sold at 4s til to 4a 8d : aged crossbred ewes, is 2d and 2a 6d ; four and six tooth crossbred ewes. 2s lid ; lambs, from la 4d to 2s 6d -the greater part of a healthy lioe of 1000 brought only Sa 3d. Cull merino ewea sold at lOld and la l|d. Cattle—A rather numerous entry of fat cattle was yarded. The demand for the best •teen on offer wae a abide better, though little or no alteration can be recorded in valna. Good etcera sold at from L 5 10a to IA 7s 6d. We quota beef at from 15s to 17s pet 100 th. Scarcely any buaineess is being done in store cattle. Thia is owing to the naar approach of winter and the uncertainty aa to whether there will be any appreciable growth in grace before ipriug. There is still, however, a fair demand for good dairy cows.
