The Greytown School Cadets.
An excellent assembly Kok place at thr Grey town Hall on Mon.lay niti.it. being tlv initiation of a genes of winter dances in aid of tbe school cadet food. Alter dancing Lia. been indulged in for some time, tbe Mayor (Mr F. H. Wood) came forward and expressed the pleasure it gave him to l>e piestn* on the occasion, and trusted that the poo.i commencement they had made that evening would be an earnest of the success of future Monday evening gatherings for the same purpoee during the season. The school cadets deserved the encouragement of the resi.len a in the district, and be trusted that the e assemblies would net a handsome fund fur their benefit, as funds co llected this way tveie subscribed far more willingly than by canvassing for donations. He Ledeved tlmt another dance had been instituted for a g. o 1 purpose alse, and he saw no reason to dual t bat that Greytown daring the season could easilv do with two daoces weekly. Mr X. Forritt said the cadets sadly required uniforms, and be hoped that by means of these social gatherings, he would be in a position to place all the cadets in the field in uniform at the forthcoming Queen’s Birthday Review which w. old be held this year at Greytown.
