Wairarapa Rifle Association.

A meeting of the above Association was held at <' vterton ou Saturday. The following were [ resent—Major Bunny (in the chair) Mr Messrs Seed, MacShane, Samuell, Bennett, Moore, Burton Boys and the secretary, (Sergeant-Major Bezar). The minutes of the last meeting were read and passed. The balance sheet for the two last seasons were read and passed, subject to the auditors passing same. The election of office bearers for 1886-7 was proceeded with. All were re-elected. Moved, seconded, and carried, “ That the financial year terminate on the 31st March in tn -li year, and that the next firing take place at (jlu.vtown on the thiid Thursday and Friday in February next.” Moved, “ That all liabilities be paid.” Moved by Lieut Moore, and seconded by Captain Bennett. •• That the Secretary receive a salary of £lO per annum.” Carried. Moved, seconded and carried, " That the Treasurer submit the accounts, duly audited, at the annual general meeting in April." It was resolved that a supply of ammunition be procured for supplying non-volnn-teer members. Mr Buchanan handed in a cheque for £6 5s to the funds, he having understood that a special prize would be made of it; but a resolution which he had overlooked debarred this, as all funds must be given to the Assoo'ation generally. A vote of thanks to the Chairman eoneluded the meeting. On the two year's transactions there is a balance to the credit of the Association ol nearly £3O.
