FEATHEBSTON RIFLE VOLUNTEERS. The first quarterly inspection for the year took pUce at the Oddfellows’ Hall on Monday night—Captain A. Donald with Liants Smith end Benton in command. Thera waa a (air attendance, Major Bunny, the District Commandant and Colonel Bntta, the Adjutant, were preaant and inspected the Company, who were put through the varioue evolutions by Drill Instructor Bezar. After the parade the annual general meeting took place, and the balance sheet for the past year was read showing a credit balance of £6O 6a Bd. Tbs election of committee then took place, and resulted in the eUotion of the three oSeera. Color-Sergeant Hodder, Corporal Marsh, Vols Whiteman, Great batch, and looker. Bergsapt Tait was sleeted secretary. The Match Committee for the ensuing year comprise Captain Donald, Lieutenant Smith, and Color-Sergeant Hodder. The balance sheet as read gave general satisfaction to the members. The matter of the Easter encampment wti mooted, end the tone of the meet* ing appeared in favour of a local encampment tor Wairarapa Volunteers.
