SPORTING.

THE GEELONG CUP. The Geelong Cup was tun for on Tbnrsdsy and was won by Claptrap. THIS MORNING'S TIPS. (Bv Lddpesdows). As there are only three bones going to spiu for the Handicap Hurdles, allow me to recommend Secretary by all manner of means. If you consider my prophesies at all reliable put your money on Jeanette for the Champagne Stakes, but don’t touch the Mangle colt. I think the Mangle colt may turn out a “ Sunday horse,” but Mangle's fitly can do the trick if on the job, and her owner always runs out straight for the sugar.” For the W. J. C. Handicap never mind 80110 this time, but plump for Athol Daisy or Trickster. For the Sires Produce go ior the only one that can win—Rumour, I say. " What about 80110 for the Grand Stand?” Well he can do it in a walk if be gets a decent weight, and Mr Macara may go home rejoicing. Waitiri will be closer to the point too this time. Puanga will win the Hack Hurdle, if he is sent. But I cannot stand Blue Gum for the Novel Race.
