Hobaet, January 7. An accident occurred on the River Derwent yesterday, involving ihe loss ol several lives. While one of the boats engsged in the ruer trade was proceeding with a cargo ol lime and several passengers she was upset Four women and a boy lost iheir lives by drowning, and the remaining six occupants of the boat were only rescued with great difficulty owing to the burning condition ol the lime, caused by contact with the water.
