Special Settlements.
The New Zealand Times furnishes a lew facts in reference to the land taken up and applied for by the Special Settlement Associations. The Woouville-Tiraumea Association selected 4000 to 5000 acres in the fork of the Manawatu and Tiraumea Rivers, four to five miles from Woodville and close to the railway line. The Woodville-Mangabao and the Masterton-Mangahao Associations selected land in the JJdangahao Block. The MastertonManpal.ao Associations having applied first Had prioiity of choice, and selected 11,070 acres on the Mangahao River, close to the Manawatu River ; whilst the WoodvilleMangabao Association selected the 5000 acres which remained in the nppet valley. The Woodville Association have applied for 5000 acres between the Mangatainoke and and Mskakahi rivers, near the Pahiatua township, and it is now under offer to them, but if they do not accept it immediately the Hull Association, who have declined to take up the block of 5000 acres which had been offered to them near Eketahuua, as it was considered too hilly by the delegates who who inspected it. The land which has been refused is intersected by the main road, and the railway line will run through it. A portion of the block is only about a mile north of £k»tehuui). ,
