The Cholera in Australia.

The news that Asiatic cholera has made its appearance at Queensland, - carried there by the mail steamer Dorunda, is serioae indeed. Six deaths have already occurred and several persons are seriously ill. We cannot wonder at the inhabitants of Townsville being much alarmed at such a visitation, and there is no doubt the Australian colonies will in a lesser degree experience some alarm also. With the very hot weather always experienced there at this time of the year it may be a difficult matter to stamp out such a terrible disease, notwithstanding the strictest of precautions, and New Zealand colonists will feel rather uneasy with such trouble close at hand. It is our duty at once to take immediate steps to prevent the plague from attack ng us.
