A Converted Ex-Vogelite.
Mb Geoboe Fishes, one of the members for Wellington City, has made a speech to his constituents and secured a vote of confidence. The speech made by Mr Fisher was a good one of its kind. He attacked the Ministry ami their policy—or rather no policy—and gave it to them hot and strong. In the main, Mr fisher was perfectly right in what he said. One of his points was good and telling. Referring to the contention put forth on behalf cf the Government, respecting the carrying of Captain Russell’s resolution Rr the reduction of f be Public Works Estimates by £SuO,COO, Mr Fisher showed from the Public Works Minister's owu figures, that the actual reduction thus caused in this year's expenditure would not exceed £loo 000, and that there was no necessity, save as a matter of vindictiveness on the part of the Best and West Coast Railwayites, for the interruption of the important works in this island, consequently that tbe lugubrious representations as to the effect of the resolution iu throwing of employment and causing disentirely unfounded. In winding Mr IRhersaid that he would the Government next cession. Government would probably ask Rr a dissolution, and probably they would get it. It is just as wed to remember that wnen Mr P'ishcr contested the election Rr the Cook constituency, he .professed himself to be a believer in Sir .Indus Vogel. Mr Fisher doesn't believe in Vogel now. He has seen the errors of hi. ways, and discovered that ogei is a humbug Wo congratulate Mr Fisher on his conversion. He has abjured \ ogtlism and retu.m-J to the reaim of prudence and common sense.
