Arrangements foe. the Mont.i OF On all WEDNESDAYS & SATURDAYS during the month, commencing on the 9th, Saturday Return Ticket* will be issued from all Wairarapa stations to Wellington, and will be avail able for the Return Journey by any for Train one week from date of issue. On WEDNESDAY Evenings, commencing on the 9th, a Train will leave Wellington at 10 30 p.m. for Masterton, slopping at Flag Stations whan required. This Train will replace the ordinary 11.15 p.m. Train for Lower Eutt, which on those evenings will not run. WAIRARAPA & EAST COAST PASTORAL AND AGRICULTURAL SOCIETY. THE ANNUAL PARADE OF STALLIONS, Under the Auspices of the above Society, will be held at the SHOW GROUNDS, CARTERTON, ON SATURDAY, OCTOBER 3. From 2 o’clock p.m. until 3,30 p.m. ENTRIES will bo received by the Secretary up to noon on the day ofPamde. Entrance fee, five shillings for each horse ; all horses intended for the Parade to bo on the ground at 1.45 p.m. Admission to the Grounds, fid ; Members. free. The gate money will he divided in equal proportions ns prizes for the most popular Light Horse and the. most popular Draught Horse. The usual admission rickets will be issued at the gate, and every ticket holder will be entitled to record hia vote. 'd'ii THE GRAND ANNUAL SHOW, Under the Auspices and .Direction of the WAIRARAPA AND EAST COAST PASTORAL AND AGRICULTURAL SOCIETY. Will be held on the SOCIETY’S SHOW GROUNDS, AT ' CARTERTON i ON WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 4, 1885, THE Show-will include Horses, Cattle, Sheep, Pics, Implements, Farm and Dairy Produce, Vehicles and Industrial Exhibits. The Society will as in previous years, offer about forty pold and silver medals, as well as cash prizes, in eachoftho above stated sections of exhibits, and iu addition hereto a large number of valuable special prizes iu cash and in plate have been promised, bringing the total amount of all prizes fully up to the average of the last three years. A Leaping Match, a Sheaving Match, and a trial of Sheep Dogs, will take place uu the Grounds during he afternoon. Programmes and Prize Lists giving full information as to conditions of entry, regulations for judging, and all other details are now being prepared and will be published and circulated shorfly. Arrangements will be made to run special trains at reduced rates, also tohavethe Show Day proclaimed a Bank and General Holiday throughout the Valley. Intending Exhibitors are informed that entries close on SATURDAY the 21th day of October, 1885, at noon, either at the Secretary’s Office, Carterton, or at the offices of Messrs R. Brown and Co., Masterton ; P. H. AVood and Co., Grey town ; and J. I). Oakly, Featherston, and that no entries can be received after that date. All communications iu reference to the Show addressed to the Secretary at Carterton by letter or telegram will be promptly attended to.
