The Pure-bred Clydesdale Horse, | YOUNG SIR COLIN CAMPBELL. 1 Young Sir Colin Campbell is rising five rears, is a J beautiful dapple bay, with four black paints, ) stands 16 hands high, with immense bone and I substance. He was bred in Canterbury by j Mr Widdoson, of Fendaiton, sire, Sir Ooliu Campbell, property of Mr Walls, Kaipoi Island, out of a mare bred by Mr Wuldisou, deroam imported from Tasmania, sire Thumper, imported by K. Kermode, and was sold to J. Simmons, Tasmania, sold by him for nine hundred guineas to go to Queensland, and was lost on the passage. Bir Colin was out of Scotland’s Pride, imported by Mr X i3e of Kaipoi, sire, that celebrated horse, June Fergus, imported direct from Scotland by Mr Daria Innos. King Fergus was by Lori Byron, the property of Mr Proudfoot, Dumfries, never ..was beaten by any other horse in competition, and was considered to be the best horse in Scotland. A sister of Yonng Sir Colin gained Ist prize as a three year old at Lincoln Show, beating a good held and ninety-five pounds were refused last spring for her. Young Sir Cohn will stand at the undermentioned places Taratahi Hotel, Monda's* from 9 a,m. till Ip m. Rising Sun Hotel, Greytown, on Monday night. Shirley’s Hotel, Feathemon, on Tuesday; returning to the Rising Sun the same niffht Kay’s Taratabi Hotel on Wednesday, Thuisday at Greathead’s Huruuuiorangi; Fridays, at the owner’s stables, East Taratahi, and at the Empire Hotel, Masterton, on Saturday. TO STAND THIS SEASON, At Tauherenikau and Masterton The Pure-bred Clydesdale Entire Horse, SIR WILLIAM WALLACE. Sis William Wallace is a dark dapple bay, with black points, 16£ hands high, with immense bone; has splendid action, and is a sure foal-getter. Sis William Wallace was bred by John floss, Esq.. Foresthill, Smeaton, Victoria; his sire was the far-famed and well-known pure-bred Clydesdale stallion, Major, imported by J. and W. Dougall, Escott, Victoria. Major was bred by the well-known breeder, W. Fulton, Sproulston, Scotland; Major’s sire, Clyde Boy, sireof Sir Walter Bcett, the grandest stallion Scotland ever produced. Major’s prizes are too numerous to nention. Major’s dam, Princess Royal. Sir William Wallace’s dam, Jenny, was exhibited fifteen times, and fained thirteen first prizes and one second prize in 865. She was awarded the Champion Prize at Ballarat for the best mare in the yard, either imported or co onial, against seventeen competitors. In 1872, at the same place, she gained the first prize with three of her progeny; also, in 1873, at the Grand National Show, held at Smeaton, Victoria, she was awarded the first prize with three of her progeny. Sib William Wallace was shown seven times, and gained six first and one second prize. He was shown at Ballarat, Smeaton, and Clunes, as a yearling, and was awarded first prize in each place. When two years old he was awarded firvt at Clunes *, also, first prize at Ballarat, and second at Smeaton. When three years old he was again awarded first prize at Ballarat, thus showing Sib William Wallace to be one of the beat bred horses' hat the colony Las ever produced. His stock was awarded first second, and third prizes in Palmerstou, Victoria, in 1872, and also first and second at the same place in 1873. Sib William Wallace’s pedigree, and the number of prizes taken by him and his stock at some of the best shows in the Sout hern Hemisphere, are snificieut guarantee to assure the public that he is a first-class horse, and second to no eiu the Province. He is perfectly quiet and as

staunch as a rock in harness. Sib William Wallace will travel as follows—Maatertuo on Monday and Tuesday, aud return to Tanhereuikau on Wednesday, where he will stand the remainder of the week; calling on his way up and down at Mr Moxphy’s Qreytown, and Mr Kay's Taratahi. * • * Terms £4 each mare, groomsge ss, payable on or before Ist January, 2875.
