Young Hero, when a four rear old gained the first prize at the Waikouaiti and Shag Valley Agricultural and Pastoral Association, be also, at the same time gained the first prize fur being the best animal of the draught stock on the ground. Same rear gained the first prize at the Blue* akii Agricultural and Pastoral Association. Stanley will leave Greytowu on Mondays for Masterton, calling at Carterton en route; on Tuesdays at Mostertm, returning on Wednesdays to Greytown ; on Thursdays to Waihenga, back to owner’s stables, G rev town, cn Fridays, where he will remain for rest of week. Dainty Davie will travel every Monday to Tauherenikao, calling at Ray’s Hotel, Taratabi; calling at Featherston on Tuesday, and returning to Rising Sun Hotel, Greytown on the same evening; on Wednesday returning to Marquis of Norman by Hotel, Carterton, thence to Cockburn’s t arm, Mastertoo, where be will remain for ihe rest of the week. Dainty Davie is by Napoleon out of Jess, Jess by Prince Royal out of Polly; Polly out of Jess (imported), by Canterbury (imported by J. C. Watts KusselL Esq.) Toe above pedigree will show that Dainty Davie is fully equal to any imported horse. His foals are giving every satisfaction, and the Napoleon stock is regarded as best both in Dunedin and Canterbury. Dainty Davie is a bright bay witi black points, rising nine years old with plenty of substance and gooi action He stand? 16 hands 1 inch high. He was the winner of a first prize when one year old; another first prize when two years old. and a third when three years old at Christchurch against all comers. She was awarded the first prize three yean in succession at the Canterbury Pastoral and Agricultural Show ; and took the second prize six times. Balmoral’s pedigree might be given at greater length, but the proprietor believer that when his dam North took the Ist prize for three years at such a show aa k held in Canterbury, breeders will be satisfied that Norah must indeed be a very high class animal. Respecting Old Wellington (Balmorals sire) many excellent judges affirm that his equal has not yet been seen in the colony.
