REDUCED CHARGES

TE AWAMUTU POWER BOARD. STREET LIGHTING AND WATER BOILERS. The Te Awamutu Electric Power Board held a special meeting on Friday, Mr J. T. Johnson presiding, to consider matters specially set down from the previous monthly meeting, including the consideration and adoption of the istatement of accounts for, the yealij ended March 31st, 1934, the framing of estimates for the current year, the writing-off of bad debts, and the purchase of a motor-car to replace one which has been in use for five years. The statement of accounts, as presented, was adopted. Under the heading “ Estimates,” the Board went carefully into the matter and decided to reduce all street lighting charges by 25 per cent, and also to reduce all electric waterboiler charges by 10s per boiler per annum. These reductions total £404 per annum. After allowing for these reductions the estimated profit for the current year is £1370. Bad debts written off amounted to £202 11s 7d. The Boajrd decided to purchase a two-seater coupe Vauxhall car, to replace the old one. Notice was given by Mr Sutherland of his intention to move at the next ordinary meeting of the Board (on Friday next), that the Board’s linejs in Park Road be reconstructed from the brickyards and extended to Teddy’s corner.
