WEDDING BELLS
LISSINGTON—DEMPSEY. St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Chulrch, Te Awamutu, was the scene of a quiet and very pretty wedding on Wednesday, 13th instant, when the edifice was prettily decorated by friends of the bride. The officiating minister was the Rev. A. C. Whitelaw, and Mrs F. Gibson presided at the organ. The contracting partieis were Miss Agnes Dempsey, second daughter of Mr and Mrs J. Dempsey, of Kio Kio, and Mr Huia George Lissington, third son of Mrs and the late Mr F. J. Lissington also of Kio Kio. The bride was becomingly attired in a blue ensemble, trimmed with grey fur, with hat and shoes to tone, and she carried a> very pretty bouquet of autu|mn-tinted flowers and maidenhair fern. In attendance as bridesmaid was Miss Nora Maxwell, of Te Awamutu, wearing a grey frock trimmed with blue, and buttoning down the back, grey hat and shoes to tone, and she carried a bouquet of hydrangeas and maidenhair fern. Mr D. Budge, of Kio Kio, carried out the duties of best man. After the ceremony a reception was held at the residence of Mrs J. A. Maxwell, of Teasdale Street where Mrs Dempsey received hefr guests wearing a navy coat frock and hat to tone and carrying a posy of violets and maidenhair fern. The bridegroom’s mother, Mrs Lissington, was wearing a brown coat frock and hat to tone, and her posy was of autumn-tinted flowers and leaves. After the customary toasts had been honoured, the happy couple left, amid showers of confetti and good wishes, on a motor tour, the bride travelling in a wine satin frock with cartridge pleating a't neck and shoulders, and wine face-cloth coat and velour hat, with shoes and gloves to tone.
