OBITUARY

MRS SYMES, OF OTEWA. There passed away at her Otewa home, yesterday morning (Wednesday), a very old and much respected resident of Otorohanga district, in the person of Mrs Symes, wife of Mr Albert Symes. The deceased lady was aged 79 years, and had been ailing some little time, but her death came as a shock to her numerous fiiends. Together with her husband the late Mrs Symes arrived in the Otorohanga district some 30 years ago, and took up virgin country on the main road between Otorohanga and Otewa, where they converted the then wilderness in to the present modern dairy farm. Mrs Symes is survived by her. husband, and a married daughter, Mrs Anthony Ormsby, and son, Mr Richard Symes, of Otewa, who now occupies the original homestead.
