WOMEN'S DIVISION BIRTHDAY PARTY. (Own Correspondent.) The Ohaupo branch of the Women's Division held its first birthday on Wednesday. There was a large gathering and a most enjoyable evening was spent. Many guests from the surrounding branches were present. The half and supper room was nicely decorated. The birthday cake, nwle by-Mrs Cowley, and beautifully decorated by Mrs Brand, was cut after supper, by the president, Mrs L. Cowley, and handed around by the ladies. Mr Pearce, on behalf of the Ohaupo branch of the Women's Division, thanked all those who had helped to make the evening a success. Between the dances items were given by Mrs Strong (Hamilton), Miss H. Flay (Te Rahu), Miss M. Brennan (Pateangi), -Miss Steenson (Kaipaki) and Messrs Godfrey (Te Rore), Jones (Hamilton), Smillie (Ohaupo), McGowen (Ohaupo). Delightful music was supplied by Mr and Mrs Wiley and Mr Fletcher. Extras were played by Miss Miller and Mr J. Karl. Mr B. C. O'Connor acted as M.C.
During the evening a bouquet was presented to the president Mrs Cowley, by Miss Pierce. A spot waltz was won by Miss Mitchell and Mr Bromich. Toward the close of the evenings, Miss Marshall, Cambridge, and Messrs Butterworth and Pierce after wishing the branch members many happy returns of the day and the best of luck for the future, briefly outlined the aims and objects of the Women's Division and also congratulated the Ohaupo branch on its progress during the year.
