AUTHORITY'S DECISIONS. FATE OF LOCAL APPLICATIONS. Following the .hearing of the No. 2 Transport Licensing Authority in Te Atwamutu a fortnight ago, in which thirty-three applications were made by* lineal and district carriers for licences, the Authority reserved its decision. By courtesy of the Authority's secretary, M,r R. Nicholls, we have now received a copy of the Authority's decisions, as under:— ■l. Weal, A. T., Pukeatua'; route, Pukeatua to Te Awamutu,. Pukeatua to Putaruru; class of goods, general: (1) This license does not authorise the holder thereof to carqy passengers; (2) Sunday operation is prohibited unless it is permitted by the provisions' of section 18 of the Police Offences Act or any other statutory authority; (3) the holder of this license shall not be entitled to carry goods from Te Awamutu to Putaruru, and vice versa. 2.., Cpupland, T. L., Te Awamutu; route, between Te Awaimutu and Hamilton via Ohaupo, Rukuhia, and Taimahere; one trip daily; no one consignment to exceed 56 lb's in weight; class of goods, general. Special conditions of license: 1 This license as in (1) above; 2. as in (1) above.

3; Mbunsey, A.; R... Pirongia; area. Awamutu; route, from Te Awamutu along the main road to Pirongia,, then to Harapepe via Hodgson's Road until Wlhatawhata Road is reached; thence to Te Rove along the main road; two miles up Eyre's Road and return to main road; thence to Mangapiko via Pirongjiu 1 IRbad up Mangapiko Hall Road and return to main road, and continuing to Te Awamutu township. Class of gobds, general; route, Te Awaimutu to Kihikihi to carry fat stock. Special conditions of license: 1. As in (1) above; 2. as in (1) above.

9. Mitchell, H., Ohaupo; route, between Ohaupo and Te Awamutu, one trip daily; class of goods, general. Route/, between Ohaupo and Frankton Junet&en, one trip weekly; class of goods, live stock. Special conditions of license: 1. As in (1) above; 2. as in (1) above.

10. West, S. H., Pokuru; area, within an area bounded by a line drawn between Te Awamiutu, Te Kawa, and Pirongia; class of goods, general Special conditions of license: 1. As in (1) abcjye; 2. as in (1) above.

11. Burke, D., Arohena; area, Otorohanga county; class of goods, road material and goods for the Public Works Department. Special conditions. 6f license: 1. As in (1) above; 2, as in (1) above.

H., Arohena: route, th£ route shall be the route taken in connection with the licensee's contract Wifchi Te Awamutu Co-operative Dairy Company for cartage of cream, to the dair|y (factory. Class of goods: Licensee is limiited to carrying individual consignments not exceeding 1 cwt to ahy one consignee and not exceeding a total pay load of 10 cwt and for delivery to farmers from whom, he collects cream in connection with his existing contract with Te Awamutu

C, Te Awamutu; aera, within a radius of 10 miles of Te Awamutu railway station; class of goods, general; route, between that portion of the area above, outside a radius of five miles of Te Awamutu railway station, and Putaruru; class of goods, timlber onliy. Special conditions of license: 1. As in (1) above; 2. as in (1) above.

14. Rowan, A., Te Awamutu; area, Kawhia and Otorohanga counties and Waipa county south of a line drawn through Whatawhata and Frankton Junction; c'ass of goods, general. Special conations of license: 1. As in (1) above; 2. as in (1) above; 3. the holder of this license shall not be entitled to carry goods between Otorohanga township and Te Awamutu borough and between Otorohanga township and Frankton Junction and Hamilton.

15. Parsons, F., Te Awamutu; area, Otorohanga and Waipa counties and that portion of Raglan county lying to the east of the range of hills extending north from Pirongia; class of goods, general; route, between Te Awamutu and Auckland, three return trips each week with one vehicle only, with right to use No. 3 authority, 1 ton 10 cwt additional, between Hamilton and Te Awamutu, in oi-der to meet road classification; class of goods, general. Special conditions of license: 1. As in (1) above; 2. as in (1) above; 4, the holder of this license shall not be entitled to cany goods between an area within a radius of 5 miles of Otorohanga post office and any point outside the area recited in the area license; 4. the holder of this license shall have the right to deviate a distance of 5 miles on either side of the Great South Road in the Franklin county for the purpose of delivering goods picked up in the area recited in the area license; 5. the holder of this license shall not be entitled to set down goods between Auckland and Ngaraaiwahia.

16. Thomson, J. W., Te Kawa; area, that portion of Waipa county south of a line drawn through Pirongia and Te Awamutu and Kihikihi and Arapuni, also the whole of Otorohanga county; class of goods, general. Special conditions of license: 1. As in (1) above; 2. as in (1) above.

Mitchell, J., Pirongia; route, from Te Awamutu along the Frontier Road to Pirongia then along Kawhia main highway to Kawhia township, and return to Te 'Awamutu via the same route, including side roads; class of goods, general. Patterson, J., Te Awamutu; route, con&mencing from Te Awamutu and proceeding along the Great South Road to Kihikihi; thence along Kihi-kihi-Arapuni main highway until Parawera pa is reached; then along the Owairaka Valley Road as far as Townend's property, and turning back along same road to Parawera pa; then along Kihikihi-Arapuni main highway as far as Quinn's gate; return then to Te Awamutu via Kihikihi-Arapuni main highway to Kihikihi, and then along Great South IRoad; also down all byeroads on above route. Bruce, L., Te Kawa; area, the Waip.a county south of a line drawn between Pirongia, Te Awamutu, Kihikihi, and Arapuni; an area 10 mples on western side of the main highway through Otorohanga county, but not including road from Otorohanga to Honikiwi; route, Te Kawa to Kawhia, Te Kawa to Ngahape district; class of goods, general. Special conditions of license: 1. As in (1) above; 2. as in (1) ahove. 25. Marsh, H. L., Te Awamutu; area, 10 miles radius of Te Awamutu railway station, to carry goods to and from railway; class of goods, general.

Special conditions of license: 1. As in (1) above; 2. as in (1) above.

26. Langmuir, T., Penrose; route, to be that covered in connection with the licensee's current contract with Te Awamutu Co-operative Dairy Company for cartage of cream to factory; class of goods, licensee is limited to carrying individual consignments not exceeding 1 cwt to any one consignee and not exceeding a total pay load of 10 cwt, and for delivery to farmers from whom he collects cream in connection with his existing contract with Te Awamutu Co-operative Dairy Copupany, and goods to be carried only when returning to farms after having delivered the cream at factory. Special conditions of license: 1. As in (1) above; 2. as in (1) above; 3. the holder of this license shall not be entitled to operate north of Ohaupo.

27. Robson, H. R., Ngaroma: area, bounded by a line drawn between Hamilton, Matamata, Putaruru. Ngaroma, Te Awamutu, and Hamilton; class of goods, stores for Public Works Department. Special conditions of license: 1. As in (1) above; 2. as in (1) above.

28. Garvey, W. H., Te Awamutu; area, within a radius of 15 miles of Te Awamutu railway station, with right to go to Arapuni; class of goods, general. Special conditions of license, 1. As in (1) above; 2. as in (1) above; 3. the holder of this license shall not be entit'ed to operate north of Ohaupo.

29. Paynter, A. V., Ohaupo; area, Ohaupo and Kaipaki districts; class of goods, bobby calves only. Special conditions of license: 1. As in (1) above; 2. as in (1) above. 30. Andrew,' Henry, and Sons., Te Awamutu; area, Waipa, Otorohanga, and Kawhia counties and that portion of Raglan county to east of the range of hills north of Pirongia, for general goods; route, between Te Awamutu and Putaruru to carry timlber only. Special conditions of license: 1. As in (1) above; 2. as in (1) above; 3. the holder of this license shall be entitled to carry furniture, building material, 'and county material only between the Otorohanga country and Te Awamutu and Hamilton; 4. the holder of this license shall be entitled to carry material for the County Council only in that portion of Waipa county north of a line drawn through Hamilton and Whatawhata; 5. the 'holder of this license shall be entitled to carry goods for Government Departments and local bodies only in the area south of main road from Otorohanga to Kawhia in Otorohanga county.

Clark, D., Te Awamutu; area, within a 15 miles radius of Te Awamutu railway station, not to run north of Ohaupo, and with the right to go to Arapuni alnd Klawhia and Arohena district; class of goods, general.
