The engagement is announced of Ellen Mary (Nellie), elder daughter of Mr and Mrs J. A. Quinlan, Kihikihi, to Daniel Joseph, youngest son of thr late Mr and Mrs J. A. Moriarty, Tralee, County Kerry, Ireland.

Mrs A. Harnish, of Auckland, ha? been spending a few days with Mrs C. S,' Mexted, Te Kawa.

Miss Marjorie Cocker, of Auckland is spending a holiday with Mrs Jas McGovern, Kihikihi Road.

The Misses Spinley, of College Street, have returned to Te Awamutu, after spending a few weeks' holiday at Helensville, Dargaville and Auckland.

Mr H. C. Mutton, who has been resident of Te Kawa for several years, left recently with his family to make their home at Whangarei.

The visiting delegation at the Boy Scout parade and meeting at the Oddfellows' Hall on Wednesday evening comprised Major F. A. Sandford, V.D., H.S.W., Dominion Commissioner of training, from Christchurch; Major Ward, District Commissioner', Hamilton; District Scoutmaster C. McDermott, Rover-Leader V. Clark, and As-sistant-Scoutmaster A. Farquhar, also of Hamilton. Accompanying the party was Captain Noel Johnson, who is a member of the Hamilton Scout executive.
