PRICES AT FRANKTON.

The- New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company reports a iu.i oi all sor«s at Frankton on Tuesday, which failed to maintain last week's, improved rates. The entry of ox beef was of on y medium weight, but good quality. Competition was not so keen as at last week's sale, and values declined slightly. Recent quotations were barely met for prime-quality cow beef, while medium to poor-conditioned met wLh a much easer market, decreasing slightly in value. Store cows met with a fair demand. Prime medium-weight ox beef made £6 to £7, medium-quality ditto £5 4s to £5 15s, lighter-condi-tioned £4 10s to £5, prime fat cow and heifer beef £5 to £5 17s 6d good fat cows £4 to £4 17s 6d. fat ditto £3 5s to £3 15s, lighter d tto £2 15s to £3 2s 6d, light ditto £2 5s to £2 12s 6d ; kil'able £1 10s to £2 2s, stores ißs to £1 6s, boners to 14s, medium runners £1 5s to £1 15s. The supply of sheep was in excess of the demand for all classes. The full yarding was mainly inferior fat sheep. Competition was not so keen as at recent sales for medium sorts although good prime sheep were wanted and brought prices just about on a par with late rates. Very prime fat wethers made 14s to 15s Id, prime wethers 12s 6d to 13s 9d, medium ditto 10s 9d to lis 9d, inferior quality 9s 9d to 10s 6d, 2tooth ewes 9s to 10s 2d prime aged 7s to 8s sd, medium ditto 6s to 7s, poorer ditto 5s to 6s, fat lambs 7s to 8s 6d. Fat pigs, the entry of which was mainly porkers, realised prices on a par with late rates, while competition was not so keen for the full yarding of stores and weaners, values for which eased slightly. Heavy porkers made £1 8s to £1 lis, medium quality £1 3s to £1 7s, light ditto 18s to £1 2s, large stores 16s 6d to 18s, medium ditto 14s to 16s, slips 12s to 14s weaners 6s to 10s.

The Farmers' Co-operative Auctioneering Company reports: At-Frankton on Tuesday we had an exceptionally heavy entry of sheep, and ewe and wether mutton eased slightly on last week's rates. A heavy yarding of ox beef all round eased to the extent of approximately 15s per head; cow and heifer beef also declined in price. A small yarding of fat pigs and an extra heavy yarding of stores and weaners again came forward, values for all classes remaining unchanged.
