TALE OF SOME MISSING COINS. A well-dressed stranger entered a shop in Alaiya, near Symma, recently, and wanted to buy some of the coin-like pieces of gold that the Anatolian women are fond of decorating Sheir dresses with. He was unable to agree on a price with the. shopkeeper'and the bargaining went on for several days. After one of the stranger’s visits the shopkeeper found that some of the pieces were missing, and when the man was arrested several were found in his possession. On arrival at the station the policeman turned out his pockets, but was .unable to find any trace of the coins. It was then found that the stranger had stolen, them again and had afterwards them.
