The Rugby match at Hamilton yesterday, between Waikato and Auckland representatives, attracted many Te Awamutu enthusiasts, special interest being shown in Waikato’s team by the inclusion of P. K. Quin and H. Wilkes, two Waipa players. The Waikato team was the first to score, and had the first half much their own way, but later Aucklanders asserted themselves and the game ended in victory for the city men by 22 points to 17. In the closing stages Wilkes had to retire with an injured knee, and he was replaced by Wilcox, of Taupiri.
