PRICES OF STOCK AT FRANKTCM. LAST TUESDAY’S SALE. The New Zealand Loan and • Mercantile Agency Company reports: At Frankton on Tuesday beef was yarded considerably above average numbers, and generally the advanced prices obtained at last week’s markets were not maintained, although in places light to medium-weight steers and prune cows and heifers sold at about par. A larger entry of fat sheep than usual came forward, and sold under steady competition at late rates. Store cattle met with good demand. Light fat steel’s made £l3 10s to £l3 12s 6d, heavy prime iat cows £lO 15s to £ll 17s 6d, good fat cows £0 to £lO 7s 6d, lighter ditto £7 12s 6d to £8 10s, plain fat cows £7 to £7 10s, veal calves £1 17s 6d to £2 3s, yearling steers £5 5s to £6, Jersey-cross heifers at profit £9 10s to £lO 10s, springing Shorthorn heifers £7 to £8 ss, fat wethers £1 3s to £1 8s sd, woolly ditto £1 14s to £1 14s 6d, woolly hoggets £1 10s, fat ewes in wool £1 5s lOd to £1 os. Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report having held their usual tri-week-ly stock sale at Cambridge saleyards on Monday, as under: Thei’e was a moderate yarding of stock, Avhich sold at full market rates. Aged fat cows sold at up to £7 10s, foi’ward cows £0 6s, backward and light cows £4 10s to £5 15s, light cows with calves £6 to £7 10s, yearling Jersey cross heifers £5 10s, small yearling Shorthorn heifers £4 ss, yearling Friesian cross heifers £3 14|S, bull weaners £2 17s 6d, choice Jersey yeai’ling heifers £7 7s 6d, bulls £3 5s to £7, dairy cows £l3, light porkers to £2 12s, store pigs to 355, Aveaners 18s to 245, bobby calves 7s to 14s.

HAMILTON STOCK SALE

Messrs Dalgety and Company Ltd., Hamilton, report having. held their usual weekly stock sale at Frankton Saleyards on Tuesday as under:— There was a large yarding of beef. Competition was weak at the beginning of the sale but toward the end prices were on a par with last week’s. Prime medium weight bullocks sold at up to £l4 7s 6d; other, £l2 15s to £l3 10s; prime quality heifers made up to £lO 15s; ordinary heavy cows £9 5s to £lO ss; inferior and aged weighty cows, £8 to £8 17s 6d; light cows and heifers, £5 10s to £7 2s 6d.
