The Returning- Officer for Waikato received no less than 239 telegrams with reference to absent voters. There are 515 absent voters' votes and 48 postal votes yet to be counted. These, of course, may alter the result of the poll. The serutin- of the rolls etc., is now proceeding*, and the counting of the absent votes, etc., will not take place until this is completed, which will probably be about Tuesday next.
