The New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association has arranged through the Premier- to cable the High Commissioner, requesting him to communicate with Mr J. McHolm, and convey instructions from the New Ziaaland Amateur Athletic Association to retain Rose on the Continent beyond the proposed date of return if he shows indications of retaining highest form, and further opportunities of competing are open. / Mr Wilton, of the council-, informed a reporter, to-day that Mr McHolm had been instructed to advise the council of Rose’s progress and movements each week-end by cable, in order that acute public interest might be 'satisfied.
