A practical farmer has communicated to a representatii’ie of the Taranaki Daily - Neivs a means by Avhich, he claims, turnips may be fed to coavs Avithout imparting a disagreeable taint to their milk. “I am convinced,” this authority stated, “that turnips will have no detrimental effect upon the quality of the milk kield if fed out properly. The best method to adopt is to pu'll the turnips immediately after milking in the morning, and to alloAv them to lie out in the night paddock all clay, exposed to the full force of the sun. This has the effect of draAVing out the objectionable odour from the roots, and the coavs can be turned on the mimmediately after milking in the evning Avithout any fear of taint resulting.” It is said 'that farmers who have tried this method, Avith a little longer exposure of the roots, are prepared to vouch for its success.
