RATEPAYERS OBJECT

ROTOMANUKA DRAINAGE BOARD CLASSIFICATION.

Several ratepayers in the Rotomanuka Drainage Board’s district lodged appeals to the 'classification, and their cases were heard by Mr F. W. Platt's, SjM., at the Te Awamutu Court on Thursday afternoon last. Mr P. IEL Watts appeared for the objectors, and described the position of the Board’s district, which is east of the Te Awamutu-Hamilton road around Ohaupo township. The area includes Rotomanuka Lake, Round Lake, and two or three other smaller lakes. The eastern boundary of the area joins the western boundary of the Monaval a swamp. He traced on a map the location of each drain in the area. The views of the dozen or so objectors to the classification and of Mr S. B. Sims who acted as classifier for the Board, were heard, after which his worship decided to view the locality in company with the interested parties. He would then give his decision.
