TE RORE HOUSEHOLDERS
ANNUAL MEETING.
The annual meeting of 'householders was held in the school on Monday evening, the chairman’s report • and balance sheet being adopted. The school inspector’s report was very favourable and reflects credit on the teacher, Mr H. Mabbett. The following committee was elected for the ensuing year: Messrs W. Allcock (chairman), E. Anderson, S. Sifleet, H. Coxhead, and J. Butterworth. The Committee decide dto approach the Education Board and endeavour to obtain a larger school ground, as the present one was quite inadequate for the purpose, children and horses being herded together on a small enclosure. The chairman paid a tribute to the late Mr L. Henrickson, who was a staunch committeeman and a type of settler the district could ill afford to lose. At the close of the householders’ meeting the subscribers to the library met. The chairman gave a reyiew of the past year’s work, which was very satisfactory, stating that 70 new books had been acquired. The auditor Mr E. Anderson certified that £57 9s stood to the credit of the library fund, •which speaks well for those who have pioneered the library over a number of years. The following committee was elected: Messrs W. Allcock (chairman), S. Sifleet, A. Bell, W. McKinnon and J. G. Butterworth. Mr E. Anderson was appointed auditor. A vote of thanks to the chairman closed the meeting.
