SEXUAL OFFENCES
15 YEARS’ IMPRISONMENT.
WANGANUI, Friday.
In the Supreme Court, Mr Justice McGregor sentenced Patrick Hayden, charged with an unnatural offence, and indecent assault, at Horopito, on the major charge to ten years and five years’ imprisonment on the other, the sentences being cumulative. The Judge remarked that had prisoner been a younger and more robust man he would have ordered a flogging. William Keith Olds and Alexander John 0 [McLean, for indecent assault on a male, were each given five years’ imprisonment.
