BRICK WALL CRASHES.

SCHOOL CHILDREN ESCAPE. (By Telegraph. Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, Monday. Yesterday’s gale completed the work of the recent fire, which partly destroyed the Avonside schoolroom. A high peak end of a brick wall which was left standing when the fire destroyed the remainder of the building was blown over by the wind, and destroyed part ,of .'the premises that might have been used again. Had the wall been demolished it cou’ld have been made to fall where the bricks would have dropped among the fire debris and nobody injured. The vicar became apprehensive when the wind rose in the morning, and in view of the fact that Sunday school children would be assembling in the afternoon he was early on the scene to take precautions, and the wall crashed down shortly after his arrival.
