OTARI OHLOROFOROM CASE. AYRE SENT TO GAOL. (By Telegraph. Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Friday. George Ayre, who broke into a kiosk at Otaki and chloroformed two girls there, appeared at the Supreme Court for sentence. Judge Reed said prisoner had pleaded guilty to a very serious crime. If either of the young ladies in the kiosk had been in a de-> licate state of health accused might easily have been araigned on a charge of murder. There had been considerable deliberation in what accused had done. Prisoner was sentenced to imprisonment with hard labour for one year, to be followed by detention for two years for reformative purposes.
