Horse breeders will be interested to read of a peculiar case that happened at Springston recently. A mare gave birth to twin foals, one being born alive, and the other was still-horn, and was obviously only nine months old, the embryo having been dead in the womb for two months before the birth took place. The full-time foal survived and is still living. The truth of the case is vouched for by two Leeston residents, Mr P. E. Kesteven (branch mans ever of t'm National Mortgage Agency Co.) and Mr Jack Webster, who were on the farm on the day when the mare foaled.
