HAMILTON STOCK SALE. The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Co., Ltd., report:—At Hamilton on November 6th we had a moderate yarding ,of sheep and cattle, but pigs were again present in full supply. Fat sheep seemed to draw rather better competition and the whole of the entry was .cleared. Wethers shorn made from 30s 6d to 355, forward hoggets 265, store hoggets, small 20s 3d to 22s 6d; forward hoggets 265. Beef again met with a dull reception, bidding being slow and spiritless. Everything was, however. cleared at auction. Best steers made from .£9 to £lO 10s; lighter weights £4 10s to £5 15s; forward cows £3 2s 6d to £3 16s; store cows from £1 to £2 2s 6d. There was a fair entry of empty heifers for which competition was fair. Jersey cross made to £3 15s; Shorthorn and Shorthorn cross £2 5s to £2 15s. Dairy cattle were not plentiful nor was the quality noteworthy. Cows made from £5 to £7. Pigs, which were yarded in full numbers, declined in value. Heavv baconers made to £4 9s, light baconers £2 12s 6d to £3 10s; porkers £2 to £3 10s; weaner and store pigs sold well in comparison, slips making to 355, weaners 16s to 21s 6d. Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report. having held their usual weekly stock sale at Frankton yards on Tuesday, November 6th, as under:—There was a fair yarding of fat sheep which met with good competition at late rates. Heavy shorn prime wethers sold at 37s 3d, heavy prime shorn I ewes 355, medium weight fat shorn ewes 30s 3d to 325, woolly hoggets 28s. Beef cattle were yarded in average numbers. Prices were again a little lower. Prime ox beef sold at equal to 28s per 1001 b, prime cow and heifer beef at 20s to 225, store cows sold at about late rates, for ward bullocks made up to £6. The demand for young cattle was slack, excepting for quality lots, which sold at late rates. The dairy cows and heifers yarded were only of moderate quality and sold at about late rates. There was a moderate yarding of fat pigs, which sold at lower rates.

N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report:—At Frankton yards yesterday a fair entry of fat sheep came forward, and sold at advanced rates. Beef was penned in full supply, and was much above requirements, and again declined in value. Good store cows and young cattle sold under steady competition. We quote: Fat steers £B, fat cows £6 5s to £7 10s, store cows £2 9s to £2 14s, Shorthorn 15 months old heifers £1 17s 6d to £2, Friesian 15 months heifers £2 12s, yearling steers £1 17s to £2 6s, dairy cows close to profit up to £ll, backward sorts £4 to £G, heifers close to profit up to £9, backward £3 10s to £5, fat wethers (shorn) £1 17s 3d. A good yarding of fat pigs came forward. Competition was dull, and prices were on a par with last. week. Prices realised were: Heavy baconers £3 12s to £4 10s, medium baconers £2 15s to £3 9s. porkers £2 9s to £2 12s, unfinished 35s to £2 Is, weaners £1 to £1 10s.
