SUGAR CONTROL.

TO END IN AUGUST. The Government control of sugar, which was a war measure, will shortly be lifted. The Prime Minister stated that, the return to pre-war conditions in regard to this commodity will take place not later than the middle of August. The Hon. W. Downie Stewart. Minister of Internal Affairs, is m;iking the necessary arrangements for the change, which, of course when it takes place will not. have any direct effect on the price of sugar. Prospects for the coming Fiji crop are reported to he much better than last year.
