BRITISH PERIODICALS.
The January number of “The Ideal Horne," which we have just received from the publishers, Messrs Gordon and Gotch (Aus.) Ltd., is a beautiful number profusely illustrated. No lovers of the home should miss this number, and from cover to cover are packed hints for the home. Among the contents are: Plow to Lay a Breakfast Table. Decorative Glassware, Some Old-time Chairs. Photo Friezes, Good Housekeeping; Poultry Keeping, etc. The “Storeyteller” for February, just to band, is an exceptionally fine number, containing stories by the best authors. A special feature is a long novel by Philip Gibbs entitled, “The Beggar of Berlin.” This is on very original 'lines and grips the reader ’by its action, at the; same time giving an impression of the conditions at present prevailing in the German capital. Other stories by popular authors complete an excellent number. The March “London’ is also to hand. In special articles it contains items of moment, including “The Hidden Menace,” “Spiritualism Exposed” and “ Peaceful Penertation,” while m fiction there is a splendid range. As a popular periodical the March London thoroughly retains the reputation of the publishers. In the February “Yellow” magazine a new serial story commences, “Whosoever Loveth Enough,” by Anthony Carlyle, and there is a budget of selected short stories which make pleasant reading for everybody. ‘The Violet" Magazine features Lloyd Williams' “The Princess in the Faii.v Tale,” with a good selection of short stories to make the number exceedingly good value. These periodicals are available at all stationers.
