Willorcl are making a strenuous effort to secure another candidate for Kaiapoi, and State that Mr W. P. Spencer is willing to stand aside if one of. the party leaders becomes a candidate. An effort is Icing made to induce Sir Joseph Ward 1.0 allow himself to be nominated.' A deputation may wait upon Sir Joseph within the next few days with a view to gaining his consent to nomination.
