POLO.
TOURNAMENT AND SPORTS ARRANGEMENTS.
At the racecourse on Saturday a meeting of members of the Te Awamutu Polo Club was held, Mr W. G. Kay, the captain, presiding over a large attendance, including the secretary, Mr S. A. Empson. The secretary reported that the tournament in Te Awamutu had been arranged for March. It was decided that all arrangements be left in the hands of the management committee, consisting of Messrs W. G. Kay, F Taylor, and the secretary.
It was stated that Mr J. G. Wynyard had consented to act as secretary of the sports arranged toy the club. The management committee met in the evening, and went into the question of the sports. The following officials were appointed: President, Mr H. Y. Collins; vice-presidents, Messrs F. Quin, J. B. Teasdale, Junr., and J. G. Wynyard; judge, <Dr Grib'ben; starter, Mr F. Quin; clerk of. the course, Mr A. 0. Kay; clerk of the scales, Mr A. Young; handicapper, Mr S. A. Empson; timekeeper, Mr N. E. Lee; hon. surgeons, Dr G. J. Hall and Dr F. C. Blundell; stewards, Messrs W. G. Kay, F. Potts, F. Taylor, J. Kay, S. A. Empson, D. Kay, L. Kay, D. Bockett, G. M. A. Ahier, and R. W. N. Lord. The following events were agreed upon: Bending competition, visitors' plate (two furlongs), polo ball race, polo pony test, polo pony cup (four furlongs), ladies' bracelet (thread the needle), flag race, donkey race (three furlongs), cigar and night-shirt race, and consolation race (three furlongs).
