Mr Harold Beauchamp has been reappointed chairman of directors of the Bank of New Zealand.

Mr James Jackson, formerly owner of tlm Te Awamutu Hotel, and now a resident of Napier, is on a visit to Te Awamutu.

Mr W. W. Sut'ton has befen gazetted deputy registrar of births, marriages, and deaths in the district of Te Awamutu.

Messrs F. F. Hockly, M.P. (Rotorua), and R. F. Bollard, M.P. (Raglan), were in Te Awamutu this morning conferring with local body representatives on matters concerning the needs of their districts.

Mr J. B. Teasdate, of Te AWamutu, has been re-elected unopposed as this district’s member of the Auckland Harbour Board. Mr J. S. Bond has been elected unopposed to represent the borough of Hamilton and the counties of Raglan and Waikato. The Auckland Education 'Board has appointed Mrs M. A. Bococlt as dressmaking . instructress to conduct classes a't Te Awamutu, Te Kuiti, Huntly, and Ng&ruawahia. Mrs Bocock is a practical dressmaker of many years’ experience, and she has also had several years, as a teacher of dressmaking in Wangauni, Auckland, and Hawke’s Bay districts. The classes will afford an opportunity to ladies of getting skilled instruction in the art of dressmaking.
